I will be reading this book in a few weeks (November 2021). I think I am in love with Marcus Samuelsson! If you haven't listened to Our Harlem: Seven Days of Cooking, Music and Soul at the Red Rooster, I can highly recommend it. Glad to know you enjoyed this. His life's story is an amazing one, IMO! We should all be grateful to the Swedish family who adopted him and his sister!

Great review, even though I haven't read the book myself. I love memoirs, and if they involve food, all the better. With that said, I've always found Samuelsson to be a big arrogant and annoying on Food Network shows, but I never know how much of that is truly him or what they ask him to be. Plus, he always throws something into every comment about his background. At some point, it's overkill.

However, if I saw this in the "used" section of my bookstore, I would totally pick it up and read it in part because of this review. Thank you for doing the dirty work ;)
