I enjoyed this book too. And there are a few things to focus in on when describing it, so it's cool to see who sees what front and center. I think your second to last line is the key: what is on the surface compared to what is within/real. Fitzgerald's line for Carraway in Gatsby "I was within and without."

I didn't even get into Emma, Leah. I thought what she was going through was really interesting but she never felt like part of a couple. Now, I'm thinking I need to redo my review!

This book sounds really interesting. There does seem to be quite a clash between parents and non-parents. And even parents with older children, who can no longer seem to call up the patience to listen to little ones crying. (Speaking from conversations I've had with family and friends, certainly don't mean to be generalizing.) I will have to add this one to the list. Thanks for the good review!

Nice review! I enjoyed the way Mirvis used three couples at different life stages -- young woman afraid of being tied down, young parents, and empty-nesters. I think most people can identify with at least one of these characters, and it gave me a few things to think about.
