Temporary Closure

June 2, 2014

temporary closure

To all my dear kind readers, this brief post is to let you know why I’ve been semi-silent for the last two weeks. Somehow, at my advanced age, I got an ear infection that spread to the bone behind the ear and landed me in the ER. I was pumped full of antibiotics and am slowly recovering but have no hearing in my right ear and a brain that is half functional. Sadly, the large dose of antibiotics has also left my digestive track a mess meaning I’m not eating enough to have any energy.

What this means for you? Writing is really difficult- at least writing and reviewing the way I want to, so I’ve had to step back and focus on getting better. Please don’t give up on my little site- there are great things ahead! Most specifically an hour long conversation I had with the talented and funny Stacey D’Erasmo. Her new novel, Wonderland, is one of my favorites of the year and we had a marvelous time talking about all kinds of things.

That’s it for the whining and I appreciate every single one of you that stops by to share the love of books. I’ll be back soon!

Catherine

I really hope you’re feeling better soon – I can’t even imagine how frustrating that must be. Totally looking forward to your conversation with Stacey D’Erasmo!

Poor thing! Feel better soon, and enjoy any narcotics they may give you. We’ll be waiting when you return.

Take care of yourself. Sounds brutal to be down like that and so unexpectedly.

Oh, poor you! Try acidophilus to get that digestion back to normal (it really helps). Healing thoughts coming your way, Catherine.

Thank you all dear e-friends! Just trying to get answers at this point and not to beat myself up too much about how far behind my poor blog is falling. Feel like I’m letting people down but really appreciate the kind thoughts. I will be back!

Oh, Catherine, I’m so sorry to read this! I’m sending you lots of feel-good vibes, hopefully you’ll be on the upswing very soon. Don’t worry about blogging (or try not to – I know it’s not easy) because in the end it will just cause you more stress and that certainly won’t do anything to help you improve! Sometimes you just have to let yourself off the hook and with that can come a really helpful bit of relief. It sounds just miserable, what you’re dealing with. Feel better! x

Holy crap! First, sorry it took me so long to read this or I would have said something sooner (I’ve been MIA on blogs lately). I hope you feel better and that things are on the upswing!
