I used to keep a watering can by the kitchen sink and put it under the faucet while waiting for the water to heat to wash dishes! A different world up here but I still find myself doing those kinds of things.

You’re right. I chuckle when I visit family in Wisconsin who just let water stream down the drain while washing dishes, counters, etc. I’ve learned quickly in Utah to turn off when I’m not actually using it.

Great question, Cynthia! If I were still living in Utah it would have been even more difficult to read but in Seattle?! So much water- which he plays up in the book. The rest of the country really doesn’t care what happens to these states.Which also seems realistic.

It’s a fascinating subject and reminded me of how careful we were with water when we lived in Utah. That’s why it’s scary- it’s science fiction-y but it seems quite realistic.
