I just finished & reviewed this one too. I liked it especially for how it shined a light on the topic of returned child captives. I had not read much on them before, but it’s interesting that they rarely had a successful time once returned back to their families. Hmm. Food for thought. Still I rated it 3.5 to 4.0 stars.

I had to laugh at your comment string with Sarah. I felt like she did, but you got me with ‘short.’ Great review, as always. You never fail to give me a good feel for whether something is a fit for me.

Your reviews are always so beautifully written. I really liked News of the World and Jiles writing especially. I admit short was a draw, but am very glad I read it. I think Sarah should go for it!

Nice review, Catherine. Reading this one right now myself, and loving it. Jiles is a graceful writer. Even the complete lack of quotation marks works for some reason.
