Honestly, with all the options, it is not top tier. Good but not great.

I feel like I’ve read so many great WWII books, that now only want to read others if they are truly top notch. The “twist” and the sappiness toward the end have me even more on the ropes!

Me too! I love them! I agree completely on Sarah’s Key. That book bothered me, but not in a good way. I found the main premise completely implausible and so could not invest in the rest of the story. Cantor does a much better job in The Lost Letter. It gets a little ‘sappy’ towards the end but the bulk of the novel is compelling.

I like the premise of the novel, it sounds intriguing and I’d probably pick it up if I come across it. I’ll make a note of the title, thanks Catherine. I tend to gravitate towards WWII historical fiction novels.
