In reply to Tara. It is insane how hard it is! He worked at Babbo and apparently the kitchen is about the size of a home kitchen so you are crowded and dealing with knives and fire- yikes.

WOW! Can you even imagine an experience like this? First of all, I would feel so incredibly intimidated (my kitchen skills are quite limited – ha!); second, it had to have been a LOT of work. This sounds fascinating; will add to audio list.

Catherine, this one sounds really, really interesting. (I’m already hungry for some good Italian!) One of my sons is a chef, so I’ve seen how different that world is from what people tend to expect. It would be fun to get some of the gossip on Batali. Maybe after I recover from all the nonfiction I’ve been reading!
