I hesitated with Bardo because his short stories are so acclaimed, but I had so little to choose from I went with it.

I loved The History of Wolves, but never reviewed it and couldn't come up with a great summary for it. Thought it was beautifully written.

I'm so thankful that you introduced me to The Takedown; that was such a fun read! I don't care what anyone says, Lincoln in the Bardo is going on my favorites list - hahaha! At least we are able to commiserate, Catherine. I keep forgetting to look for a copy of Girl in Snow; I really want to read this one!!

I can see I missed a couple great debuts this year. I wasn't a fan of Lincoln in the Bardo or Goodbye Vitamin, but loved If We Were Villains and Dead Letters. I also just finished The Hate U Give yesterday and like you, loved it. It would have made my Best of list had I finished it sooner. I really read it just for me and don't plan on doing a review. Now that I've had success with a YA book, it might be time to try The Takedown....maybe another one just for me!

Glad your holidays are shaping up nicely, Catherine. Merry Christmas!

Ha - I knew you'd like Hate U Give! I was kind of surprised you hadn't read it!

I obviously agree with most of this list!
