Originally, I would have said the order was not so important because I started with the newest and was reading them as I could get them at the library. No problem until one specifically involved a central character- deeply. It was book #5 and I wish I hadn’t read it yet. Because of that I’m now going back to the beginning and staying in order.

I decided I want to read them in order so I’m waiting for #2. Have you felt like you’ve missed anything by reading them out of order? Do you think the characters progress in the series or are they really independent of each other?

I saw her interview about Hillary! I pretty much have a girl crush now. And…I just received the beginning books in the series (1-8) so may say screw it to 2018 and head to Three Pines for the winter.

I bet you could through the library with no problem- especially if you went with audio or e-book. The beginning ones are over 10 years old.

It started out intriguing, but quickly lost me. I don’t even remember why. I liked The Party more than you did, but I love a slow burn about twisted folks. True, not super shocking or exciting, but it kept me engaged.

Louise Penny is one of the most lovely humans ever, and I’m not sure why, after reading the first in this series, I did not continue. Maybe I need to pick up the second and give it another try.

Here’s to more better escape reading in the year to come.
