Exactly. I’m happy that I finally found a 5 star literary novel, but it was a painful story. I feel as if I need to move to thrillers/chick-lit and let go of all the pending new releases I’m supposed to read!

I am about 60% of the way through this one and loving every minute; I could not agree more with your assessment of “cotton candy fiction!” I am always so amused when readers try to assess this type of fiction as they would a more literary selection; apples and oranges, people! Your description of her cotton candy fiction has me longing for a taste. I’m going to add this to my list for when things slow down a little. A light book full of fun will be a welcome respite from the doldrums of so-so literary fiction.
