She seems like an author with promise but the premise of this one doesn’t really grab me. Still I’ll look for what she does next.

In reply to Susie | Novel Visits. Good move. I see it as a mood read- if you see it at the library at some point and it's appealing go for it. But it's darker than the blurbs made it out to be.

In reply to Kate W. It's difficult because the Bertha segments are so interesting, but then when she's gone the novel almost turns in the opposite direction- and it's a negative one. It made me lose interest.

I was really disappointed when I didn’t get an ARC of Bowlaway, but now I’m sort of glad I didn’t. The premise sounded so fun and the quirkiness could have been refreshing, but??? Thanks for vetting it for me. I may give it a try eventually, but for now I’m moving Bowlaway down on my TBR list.

What a shame! I was looking forward to his one (and will still read it eventually) but will lower my expectations slightly.
