I guess it could have worked as a dramedy, but the mix was wrong. Too many unsurprising bombshells.

Some of his plot choices were just questionable. Too much drama.

It’s totally too bad because it seems like such a great fun premise — about working with Jackie O as your editor — but then it seems he ruins it with too much junk. I don’t think I will pick it up but gosh I like the premise! (I actually was one of two people on earth who didn’t like his first novel so Rowley might be striking out, despite some good wit.)
