It wasn’t that so much as who it was and their place in the book (they were characters who hadn’t appeared at all in majority of book and then only briefly towards the very end). Felt incongruous.

I wish I could remember the ending more clearly – it’s been a while now since I read it and my copy was from the library. However, I don’t remember feeling puzzled… I do know that some readers weren’t happy with there being a male character in the story at all, but that didn’t bother me. I liked to think they weren’t *all* bad.

I now it will sound liek a weak reason, but it’s also not a long book. It wouldn’t be a big time investment and despite the oddities, I was blown away by the women’s journey.

Yes! But it’s also why I found the ending so puzzling. Without spoiling to much, why end from the POV of the men?
