I had this in the “maybe” column. I’m not a big fan of historical fiction but you convinced me! Very entertaining and enlightening regarding HG. Easy, quick read: great for summer.

Now, of course, I look back and cringe at how male-centric they were, but Gurley Brown exploded the whole women-at-home-having-babies magazine market. I remember them fondly and can even still picture some of the amazing covers with the gorgeous models of the 70s and 80s.

In reply to Laila@BigReadingLife. It is, but there is also all of the sexism in the workplace that went along with that time. I know it's fiction but reading how Brown navigated between these horrible men to get what she KNEW was the right thing for that magazine is great.
