I read it so long ago I don’t remember that. I do remember it shifted around a lot. Was it an unflattering portrayal of the Midwest? I don’t remember that either!

I’m hoping We Are All Good People is as good as it sounds.

o many great sounding books here. I’d already requested Searching for Sylvie Lee and We Are All Good People here and am waiting to hear on both. The Dearly Beloved Looks great and I’m off to request it right now.

I didn’t read The Submissions, but you have me very curious about the author. I think I’ll wait to hear your thoughts on that one.

I just requested We Are All Good People here on NetGalley after reading your review. I love southern lit. I did not like Kitchens of the Great Midwest at all. I hated how the central character was always on the periphery. I did like all of the descriptions of the Midwest, since I live in Minneapolis. I might give this author a second try.

In reply to The Cue Card. I loved The Submission and yet it didn't get much attention. I love how Kwok approaches her stories so hoping the trend continues with this one.

Thanks for letting me know about the Amy Waldman novel. I really liked The Submission. She’s a force of a writer. I might also check out the Kwok novel for fun …. could be a page-turned set in the Netherlands.
