It definitely broke the flow of the novel for me. For some the mystery would compensate, but the mystery wasn’t what I wanted either. I’ll wait for her next book!

I wasn’t interested in the mystery/thriller aspects and that was the focus. She delved into the family somewhat, but not in a way I appreciated.

Thank you! If you’re looking for quicker summer reading, this is a good one. Mambo and Girl were just richer- not that they were heavy or slow reading. More character and nuance.

Based on your advice, it’s one I’m going to just skip. Too bad it wasn’t a little less frantic and the choppy dialogue (that would be just plain annoying).
