You’ve hit the nail on the head- I don’t know what she was trying to do. Some points felt a very strong indictment of America in Afghanistan (not hard to feel) and of people throwing money at things they know nothing about and others felt like a satire because Parveen came across like Paris Hilton. I couldn’t keep my footing.

I too got an ARC of this story since I liked The Submission but now I don’t really want to read it. Hmm. I wonder what the author was trying to do? It seems quite dense too?
