It could be a great option or it could be annoying. I’m leaning towards great, because I came to really appreciate the character and his courtly ways. Too little of it in the world now.

He is! At first it’s off-putting, but Greenwood does such a good job of portraying him as whole person- not just defined by his autism. She really made me think.

I’ve been in the same place this summer- can’t read and can hardly write. Too much chaos. At first, I thought I did not have the mental energy to stick with something so out there, but as you said- I loved All the Ugly and it was very difficult as well. By a third of the way it was no longer an issue and I came to appreciate Gentry for who he was. She always makes me think.

I have no idea, but I bet it could be marvelous! Or, like reading it, it could get tedious. I was bothered at first, but it didn’t take long to feel normal and almost kind of nice. Very formal, gentlemanly language. Who doesn’t like that?
