That is definitely an aspect for me- how many different creative (and scary) way writers come up with for the apocalypse and what comes after. There is always some aspect I'd never considered. I think Station Elevn is still one of the best. Any other you'd recommend?

Yeah with Trump in office: my reading pile seems like a mix of dystopia and fantasy these days: all I can handle. I also liked Ling Ma's book and thought her protagonist was quite good & nuanced. Here's my thoughts on Severance at : https://www.thecuecard.com/books/jumping-into-fall/

That's a whole lot of dystopia for a single month. I don't think I could do it no matter how good the books. Three is probably my upper limit for the year.

I loved Severance more than I expected to! I totally agree that felt just real enough that it was eerie to read, and there were a couple quotes that made me stop and put the book down.

After the Flood was on my radar, but the other two were not. For some reason, I’m so drawn to dystopian novels even though sometimes they give me nightmares. I think it’s because I’m fascinated with the worlds that people come up with in them. I’ll have to check out these other two and may get to Severance sooner rather than later because the premise sounds really interesting.
