I liked that it wasn’t straightforward at all. I firmly believed I knew where the novel was going, but that was my own knee-jerk reaction. Then it pivoted. And again. Not easy, but he does a good job.

I thought I would be the same way, but then I read The Holdout next and loved that as well. When I did return to more literary fiction it was hard to slow down.

I think you’ll like it. It’s creepy because it challenges the reader in a lot of ways. I appreciated that.

Thank you! I always do better with less when it comes to thrillers. I think it’s why I couldn’t read The Children’s Bible. Too graphic freaks me out.
