Even though we’ve never met in real life I feel as if I know you well enough to say: it is NOT the book for you. The descriptions of the environment are outstanding, but it only made me want to watch Ken Burns’ documentary!

I’m not exactly a big Hannah fan so not sure if or when I’ll get to this. I have only read The Nightingale (which comes out as a movie at Christmas) … This new one as you said: seems formulaic. Yeah give me the Joads family instead.
