I just devoured this novel, then found your review. I agree with everything you said except I have to tell you that this character could have been based on my mother, making the novel resonate even more. Truly. I lived this in so many ways and unfortunately it’s not as implausible as you might think. Anyway, thanks for putting this one on my radar (via Sarah’s Bookshelves). It was so engrossing!
