In reply to Laila. I hear you. No matter where you look the news is terrible. My attention has been horrible. I've picked up and discarded more books in the last two weeks than I have in a long time. Thankfully, Stephen King's plots are intricate enough they can keep me focused.

In reply to Linda Pappas. That's exactly why I read it and just like you I'd forgotten how much I like his storytelling style. I have the 2nd book as well and went and ahead and bought Holly. Apparently, Holly has her own trilogy: a novel called The Outsiders and then a novella. I don't quite understand which is which, but I'm sticking with the Bill Hodges trilogy and then reading Holly.

I read this and thought it was well done, but never read any of the others. Maybe future Laila will pick them up. Present Laila is also really fussy with her reading right now. I’m reading unusual things for me like YA – and enjoying it! The state of the world is especially awful right now. Thank goodness I can still escape through books.

I just read this! Because I want to read his new book “Holly”, I decided to start with the first book in which she is a character. It was a good read, also the second in the trilogy “Finders Keepers”. I’m off to the library today to pick up my request of “End of Watch”. I haven’t read any Stephen King lately and I forgot what a great story teller he is.
