Catherine, I just finished this one yesterday - and had been saving your review to read when I finished - and I completely agree with your assessment of the author's treatment of alcoholism. I thought she did an outstanding job and, having dealt with it for many years (and the aftermath) while in relationship with my ex-husband, this is such a beautiful and compassionate depiction leading me to believe the author either had some wonderful help while writing or has dealt with it personally. I thought this novel was so well written and I really enjoyed it.
