Thank you, Jackie. Touching is the right word because it is not happy per se. In trying to deal with her life Lucy is confused and frightened and things don’t usually go the way she meant them to.

I recently read a novel also with a disabled character and I liked it very much: in this case she was a 50 year-old woman who is about to be alone because her mother -and only relative- has cancer.

The magical realism part is what makes me hesitate. I can deal with a little – but absolute hard to believe in a realistic setting pains me.
