I’ve just started to hear a fair bit of buzz about this book and I enjoyed your review. I’m still not sure if it a great book for me, but I will put in my list of To Be Considered books.

In reply to Shannon @ River City Reading. Shannon, I was the same way. It took me two weeks on and off to write that review because there was so much to say and I'm not even sure if what I felt/saw was the book or my interpretation. That alone makes it a remarkable work in my mind.

Wow, I absolutely love this review. Ruby was nothing like I was expecting and I still don’t know that I’m going to be able to put into words all of my thoughts on it (especially after you’ve done it so well here!). The writing totally blew me away, particularly in scenes like Celia quietly raging through the house waiting for Ephram, but I was a little thrown by (what I guess would be) the elements of magical realism, which I didn’t quite anticipate.
