Well, hell. I don't want to read your review because I haven't gotten to this arc yet, but I wanted to see your star rating. Which doesn't bode well. Whether I end up reading it or not, I will come back to read your thoughts, which are usually pretty close to mine. Sorry it didn't work for you!

Yes. Thank you. I was starting to feel bad that I wasn't the only one in love with this one. There was never any surprise - from the beginning you're pretty sure that Glen did it and then surprise: he did. I also had a hard time caring about Jean. If after his death she had somehow broken out of her shell, done something that Glen would have hated, SOMETHING, she would have been infinitely more interesting. But even released by his death, she continues to passively walk through her life. I wanted so much more from this one - I was mostly vaguely ill the whole time - Glen was a horrible person and Jean was so complicit!

And - thank for you another book I don't have to stress about whether to add to my TBR! And - a little glad my husband grew up in my hometown so I'm pretty sure I'd know about any sordid past!

I really loved the psychological profiling in this one as insightful or more tips I guess for parents as what to watch for. But, I kept thinking the book was going to cross over into thriller territory, but it never did. I really think there was potential for those twists, but they didn't come. I did enjoy it for the profiling and as a mystery to follow, though.
