Great post! I haven't read any of the books, but they all sound quite interesting (especially the very first one that you mentioned). Looks like you had a great month! I love this meme (I actually did one as well); the library is just such a wonderful thing!

Anxious to hear what you think about Siracusa and You Will Know Me. They are high on my list, but I won't be able to get to them any time soon. So hopefully I will be living a good read vicariously through you!

So glad to hear that about The Assistants!

Taming of the Queen is good, but depressing as hell- that being an intelligent woman at that time was so dangerous. Why don't we hear more in non-fiction about these men and their brutality?

I really really liked The Assistants. It does have a Devil Wears Prada vibe to it. A fun read, sharper than I expected it to be when I started it.
I'm right there with you on Gregory. There was a time when I was frustrated by her work but still kept reading it. I think she turned a corner with The King's Curse. I have The Taming of the Queen on the shelf - need to read it one of these days. Then it will be time for the latest one!

My library win for August was The Trouble with Lexie (LOVED!) by Jessica Anya Blau. My library disappointment was Truly Madly Guilty by Lianne Moriarty (Boring!) My big hold is The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead, lots of hype thx to Oprah. Will keep you posted! Really relate to your reviews, thank you!!

Yay - I'm so glad you haven't given up on Siracusa! And are giving You Will Know Me a shot!

I think I'm on an every other month Library Checkout pattern...I just don't have enough to report every single month. So, I'll be back for the September check-in.
