9 Women sounds like a perfect happy read! I love the journey of an object in a book and will have to find this one.

At first blush, I would have thought 9 Women outside my wheelhouse, but it actually sounds quite interesting. I am a bit of a sucker for stories of the different lives of inanimate objects, so maybe I’ll check it out.

The bizarre nature of the bomb-drop and the ignoring of it Not Working would put me off as well. How very strange. You hit the nail on the head – mother/daughter angst is easy enough to create, why even bother if you’re not going to deal with it. Could that have been the idea? It’s swept under the rug in the book because that’s what often happens in real life? Even if so, not good.
