YES! The race is on Saturday, April 22; I'm going to fly in on Thursday, the 20th, and stay with a friend in Kirkland through Monday. This will be my first ever trip to Seattle and I'm really looking forward to it!

I also really enjoyed The Secret Chord, even though I'm not religious. Pretty much anything Brooks wants to write about is fine by me :)

I loved it but maybe because of Idaho I feel like I'm reading about a lot of very mean sisters!

Sometimes low expectations are exactly what we need in our reading!

Seattle in April?! For a race?

I love checking out all of your books from the month; I'm glad you finally found something that struck a note with you! I really enjoyed The Girl in the Garden by Melanie Wallace (just released on the 31st); it's a quick read and, since I had really low expectations, it was an unexpectedly good one. Thanks for sharing these, Catherine, as well as your pics from the Women's March; had a few running friends who were out with you in Seattle, too. An amazing day. OH! I'll be in Seattle in April...

Putting all the crazy, external, goings-on aside, you had a terrific reading month. I've been reading a lot also but can't find the words just yet. I liked how you set this one up. I think I will do the same. Does anyone host the monthly wrap-ups?

I'm reading a lot but not writing! Nor finding anything new I want to write about. Starting to feel kind of crazy about it.

Thank you so much for crossing the border to join us! I wish we could learn from our neighbors to the north but it just feels as if things are going to get worse. :(

That's a lot of January books! I admit I can barely think straight right now with all the Trump stuff, though I've turned off the news. I think I finished 5 books for the month which is typical for me. I agree with you that the novels Stoner and City of Thieves are really good reads. I enjoyed both. Also thanks for marching in Seattle; I think from you I learned that the marches were a nation wide thing, and that gave me the impetus to Go!
