I wondered if it was going to be as fun to watch, seeing that it wasn’t that far off from reality. Trying to think what I’ve watched that has been lighter…I’m watching The Wire right now and even that has elements that are making me kind of uncomfortable. TV is barely an escape anymore!

Behind the Beautiful Forevers sounds devastating! I knew there was a reason why I hadn’t read it before now. I see it all the time and I’ve never picked it up.

I read Behind the Beautiful Forevers several years ago and recall being so saddened by the life of women in the slums.
