Thank you so much! That’s why I had to use the word “awful”- it was so painful what they did to each other and yet, you can’t say too much without spoiling the novel.

The juxtaposition between past and present you used here is brilliant. I found Stay With Me to be sad on so many levels, but I guess that was in part the author’s intent. At times it was almost painful to read. My heart ached for both Akin and Yejide.
