Oh my God, I am so sorry! That is utterly embarrassing because I know it. I was on a James kick at the time (reading The Golden Bowl). No excuse, but thank you for pointing it out. I’ve corrected it but am mortified.

It’s just very slow. I had another friend DNF it. I was close, but I liked her writing and stuck with it, but I can’t wholeheartedly recommend it.

Thank you! To me, it was good not great simply because it was so slow. I have friends that would have DNFed it. I love Henry James so I hung in there, but it wasn’t easy. I think it may also be a case of the marketing doing it an injustice. Made it sound much dishier than it was.

Yes! The potential was there and the ending delivered, but the majority moved nowhere. No tension or pacing at all.

I really liked Big, Little Lies – both the book and the series, so this sounded promising. But, Mrs. sounds like another of those books that didn’t fully live up to its own potential.
