I really liked this book, but after reading your review, I see your points too. That’s what makes book reviews so fun – we can have differing perspectives and they are all interesting and insightful. Great review!

I completely agree with your review, I felt my 3 stars for this was generous considering I didn’t like the story. His writing is excellent but I also felt repetitive in this book. The politics and lack of some sort of inspiration from the characters and their relationships caused me to feel blah about the whole thing. I loved Beartown though so maybe he’ll redeem the town and characters with the third book. Great review!!

In reply to Ann Marie. I don't often think you must read the original book before the sequel, but in this case, without it, you'll be lost. I'm interested to see what you think about both- especially as bloggers seem to be divided on Us Against You.

I totally see what you’re saying. And I don’t think this one lived up to Beartown entirely. But, I still loved it….just not as much as Beartown. It was like picking through the wreckage of Beartown.

Hmmm….I’m seeing mixed reviews on Us Against You. You and Tara have conflicting opinions and I’ve read a couple other reviews falling on both sides of this book. I think I’m glad I didn’t get an ARC, but will still try it and probably soon. Thanks for the warnings about the darkness of Us Against You.
