I was the same way- loved The Descent. His writing is still gorgeous so if you go in without expecting a lot of suspense you should be fine.

That is always such a disappointment in an ARC. You know things are wrong, but just not what they are.

Your review really is spot on and completely fair. I agree that The Current didn’t have the same edge as Descent, but I still liked it well enough and will look forward to more from Johnston.
