Maybe I’m in a faster pace place. I still loved her writing but it didn’t hold me.

I liked all the various viewpoints and extra characters even though most weren’t completely fleshed out. I felt like they gave insight into the culture of the community and actually added a layer of emotion. Maybe it was just the right time for me to read The Other Americans, plus I’ve been reminded lately just how much I tend to like books with multiple perspectives. (Miracle Creek is working for me right now in part because of that.)

It’s beautifully written but somehow it didn’t draw me in the way Moor’s Account did. I may have just needed a faster pace.

It seems you had some qualms about it. Still I might like to read one of her other books — maybe like the Moor’s Account. hmm.
