Thank you! Yes, Olive is complicated! I decided to read it before reading Olive, Again so I'll review both.

I'm hearing really good things about The Dutch House.

Boo to us not living within visiting range!

The Brothers Karamazov?! You are one brave lady! I read it in college, but remember almost nothing about it. Russian literature is so hard!

Olive Kitteridge was complicated for me, but I'm looking forward to Olive, Again.

I'm hoping it gets better! Two of my picks from the podcast have already failed. Grrrr...

I'm really excited about Ten Thousand Doors!

I am really excited for the Racculia book! I need quirky whimsy so bad!

I struggled with Olive Kitteridge, but ultimately really liked her writing.

Great list Catherine with a nice mix. The Fall line up in general seems rather dismal to me but you've listed a few I'm interested in looking into. I have 9 mo old identical twin granddaughters and I have to say the cover of Grammarians appeals to me too, haha! Very creepy. Like the twins in The Shining

Great episode on the podcast too.

I have the ARC of The Dutch House and I'm starting Olive, Again tomorrow. Not every book is for every reader but I do want to encourage you to give Olive Kitteridge a try. It's one of my all-time favorite books, one I've read three times, and I am not a re-reader. Where Strout takes the reader with Olive is nothing short of brilliant.

Nice choices. I saw from Beth Fish that The Ten Thousand Doors of January was really great on audio, so I might listen to that at some point this fall. Looking forward to having you vet The Diver's Game and Burn It Down. Here's to some great fall reading!

I liked Olive Kitterige, but its been years since I read it. I'd be interested in Olive, Again. I'm actually reading I am Lucy Barton right now.

I'll have to catch up on the podcast soon. For now I'm knee deep in the audible of The Brothers Karamazov for an upcoming event with friends. I read it with my eyes years ago, so wanted to give my ears a turn this time.

Good luck in the move and ALL that entails.

You have a few of the same book picks I have ... the Dutch House & the Water Dancer for sure, and I'll go for Olive Again. I read the original Olive and liked it. She's a wondrous author though her tales are a bit lonely and sad/dark. I liked your podcast. Keep it up!
