What?! NO nonfiction? How can that be? Maybe give it a try on audio. I’m struggling a bit with the print. For someone who was an editor she has trouble staying with one thought. I’m getting tired of digressions into unrelated topics.

The audiobook narrator is Cassandra Campbell, so I might listen to this one. I haven’t read a single nonfiction so far this year, so it’s time. Plus, I think it would be a good follow up to Mad Men which I’ve been binge watching….the world of men a couple decades later, but still all about the men!

Wasn’t The Innocents fascinating? Such a restricted world, only two real characters, and yet I was riveted.

I’m hearing not great news about the Wolfe book. Sarah DNFed it because of the writing. Ugh.

I also looked at the Paul Wolfe novel quite a bit. The mystery of that mistress’s life & death is quite unreal. I recently liked She Said and The Innocents (books from 2019) …. and I linked to your review in my review. Both were pretty strong & left my January on the upswing. Good luck with your reads this month. For February, I’ll be trying The Holdout from Graham Moore. We’ll see.

I have never read Levangie, though I think I own one of her books. Will have to check that out. And…I have yet to read an Erik Larson, I am shamed to admit! Though I am virtually certain I would enjoy his writing. I could highly recommend David Grann and Timothy Egan for nonfiction narrative authors. Happy reading!
