Amen. Somehow the independence we take pride in as a country has come to mean the individual only. We have no unity. It starts at the top and, as evidenced last night in South Dakota, the person who should be leading is only interested in throwing gasoline on the fire and burning it down.

I have two bookish friends who really liked The Second Home so maybe give it a shot? My taste is as chaotic as the country right now. Things that normally work, don't and vice versa.

I'm trying very hard not to think about what happens if the path doesn't change. We're in trouble.

Love your rant and cannot agree more. As a nation we're lost. It's every man for himself and selfishness is ruling the day. Sadly, we all pay for it...some with their lives. In another 6 weeks parents will start being up in arms because again things won't be how they want it to be. Either their kids won't go back to school at all because people played all summer. Or, they will go back (at least part time), but be required to wear face masks. Then the complaints and special snowflake exceptions will start rolling in. As a country we need to grow up.

Oh Dear,
I was so looking forward to The Second Home- it sounded right up my alley.

I hope you can relax and find some good reads in July- yes, this political landscape is so frustrating and reckless. Hopefully November will find us on a different path.
