I’m exactly the same way. I read The Heir Affair after this and loved it, but now I’m reading Utopia Avenue and it requires real concentration. It’s not dark, but it’s David Mitchell, so I have to pay attention. It’s worth it, but I feel the pull for something that requires less effort.

I’m not sure when I’ll be done with my need for summer fun reading–it may last through winter–and this sounds perfect. Also, I keep powering through heavier books–so many feel essential right now–so I definitely need great light ones to alternate.
