In reply to Laila. It's really well done, but frustrating at times. Hard to believe someone wouldn't know how to cash a check, but Fuller's writing makes it real.

In reply to Bill Kupersmith. For me the similarity was in the parents. The father in Endless was damaged and caused damage as did Dot. "Mad as a newt" is the best description I've seen in a long time!

I found an immense difference between Our Endless Numbered Days, which I loved, and Unsettled Ground. Julius and Jeanie are adults in their fifties, yet their survival skills are scarcely beyond those of children. Surely they should have been aware Dot was mad as a newt.

I loved this book! The characterizations were wonderful; the story was so dark and brooding. Fuller made me feel such compassion for Jeanie.

This is such a great book and it stands out as one of the better books I’ve read in a while. The prose is so well done and the story unfolds nicely. I am interested in her first book and have read “Bitter Orange” which I enjoyed too.
