I think about this a lot. Right now, I’m turning to thrillers maybe because the bar is lower in my mind. When I’m reading something with a premise of diversity or literary with nuance my mental bar is high. This book was fine, but none of those things. Lots of hot guys and thinking about hot guys. And then the end made me furious.

It seems as though the author made you feel something even if it was negative at the end.
I went ahead and requested it.
This year I have read so many books where I was entertained while reading the book, but the book ended up not being memorable. I think it is me, and my mood, and the times we live in that are causing this reaction.
