Sadly, I give up. I thought Biden and the vaccine would help heal America but we're as bad now as we were 4 years ago.

I didn't know about a new Patchett- I'll have to look it up!

Welcome! I'm sorry I started slacking off on my reviews right as you showed up. Normally, I write 2-3 a week, but I'm in a weird headspace. Got to get back on track!

I'm guessing if you read The Plague Years you also read the novel The Prettiest Star. Sarah recommended that one to me.

You are so much more disciplined than I am! Choosing a book each month that leads to a final choice for the year is brilliant! I'm so flattered and happy my reviews lead you to books you love.

I had 3 5 star books in October: All Together Now, Fight Night, and We Are Not Like Them. If pressed I'd choose Fight Night because it's not getting any attention and I thought it was outstanding.

Interesting. I've always enjoyed WWII fiction, but kind of burned out on it. I'm always intrigued by a different perspective.

Glad you made it through the humidity and hair frizz. I can relate as I used to have that in Virginia. Speaking of which the Election today in VA is a bit too scary to watch the results. Hang on blue! I'm looking forward to Patchett's nonfiction this month. I hope you have a good reading month ahead. Cheers.

I finished 8 books in October. Several of them were reviewed by you, my favorite book of the month was " We are not like them".

Do you have a favorite book from October that you read? I choose one book each month to be my favorite, from that list I choose my favorite book of the year.

I read From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon. It was a WWII fiction but instead of being told from inside the concentration camps it revolved around a priest trying to hide Italian Jews. A very different take that I really enjoyed.
