I don’t want to get into age issues here but I’ve been reading A LOT for a very long time. What you see below are books I’ve read but for which I didn’t write a review because, really, I did have a full-time job for most of my life and it didn’t leave me time to write about books the way I wanted to. The list also includes books that, for whatever reason, didn’t inspire a lot of words from me but were still good and might become your favorite! Browse away, you’ll find the good, the bad, and the ugly (yes, I’m a bit more opinionated in this page).
There is a method to the madness. Books are sorted by genre. Click on the genre name to go directly to that list of books. Otherwise, the eye strain from reading all the titles in all the genres will make you go blind. Well, OK, you can browse if you want.

Most have a very brief ‘reaction’ from me. In addition, I am using a star rating system for this page because I haven’t written reviews. And because I am so incredibly helpful and I know how hard it can be to find something good to read I’ve also included my favorite authors in most of the genres. These are people whose books I read, almost no-matter-what. I count on them.
And while commerce is crass and Amazon is the evil empire, they throw a few pennies my way if you buy a book from my site. So, if you’re going to buy a book from any of these lists, please do it here so I can get another bowl of gruel. Just click the title and away you go.
As for the stars, they largely follow my rating of each book on Goodreads. However, their 5 star means it’s “amazing” and that’s a bit too much for me. So, here are Gilmore the ratings defined:
1 Star No
2 Stars All right
3 Stars Liked it
4 Stars Loved it
5 Stars Amazing
