Sunday Sentence: Still Writing

November 10, 2013

Sunday Sentence: The best sentence(s) from this week, out of context and without commentary. Inspired by David Abrams at The Quivering Pen.

still writing
Atlantic Monthly Press, October 2013

Now the page is no longer blank. There’s something there. It isn’t your business yet to know whether it’s going to be prize-worthy some day, or whether it will gather dust in a drawer. Now you’ve carved the tree. You’ve chiseled the marble. You’ve begun.

Oh, I like that one, Catherine. What a great reminder. And so well said, too.

The entire book is amazing! I have so many post-it flags marking pages it’s embarrassing.
